Timothy Speed: Die Frage für mich ist eigentlich die, wie können wir so unaufmerksam sein, es tatsächlich nicht zu sehen. Es ist also weniger dieses 'warum sind wir nicht aufmerksam genug', sondern dieses warum oder 'was bedarf es um diesen Zusammenhang zu sehen' und ich glaube persönlich, dass der Zusammenhang zwischen dem, zwischen uns und der äußeren Natur, obwohl es ein äußerer Zusammenhang ist, der sich im Äußeren abspielt, wir ihn nur innerlich begreifen können. Und solange wir nicht damit beginnen, das was in unserem Inneren vor sich geht, das was Zusammenhänge unserer Emotionen sind oder unseres intuitiven Verständnisses oder Zusammenhänge dessen, was zwischen uns ist, solange wir nicht das Wir, das sich zwischen uns entfaltet, solange wir das nicht als ein Naturphänomen begreifen, als etwas was eben nicht, sozusagen von Außen erkennen, solange werden wir es schwer haben einen Zusammenhang zwischen uns und unserem Handeln und unserem Tun und der Natur näher zu verstehen. Ich glaube, dass das was uns verbindet mit all dem da draußen, was uns verbindet mit der Natur an sich etwas ist, was aus dem Inneren herauskommt, etwas ist was ein universelleres Verständnis ist, etwas ist was uns von Innen heraus verbindet und solange wir aber im Äußeren nach Hinweisen suchen, also im Äußeren nach Verständnis suchen, nach Verbindungen suchen, werden wir mehr erkennen, was uns unterscheidet, als was uns mit der Natur oder über die Natur verbindet. Vielleicht muss man auch sagen, wir haben in jeder Zeit, in jeder Epoche durch die wir gehen ein anderes Verständnis von dem was Natur ist und all diese Verständnisse an sich sind aber okay [...]

Timothy Speed: For me the real question is: How can we be so inattentive really not to see it. So it is not so much this “why are we not perceptive enough” but it is more “what does it take to see this connection”. Personally, I believe that the connection between us and nature around us, is something we can only understand internally although it is something, which is taking place on the outside. As long as we don’t begin to comprehend what is going on inside of us as a natural phenomenon. The ‘we’, which develops between us. Until we realize this we will we have difficulties to understand the connection between ourselves, our actions and nature more closely. What is going on inside of us, what is connected to our emotions or to our intuitive understanding, the connections between us. We cannot see this from the outside. I think that our connection to everything outside, our connection to nature, is something, which comes from the inside. This is a more universal understanding. It is something, which connects us from inside. As long as we search for hints on the outside, as long as we search for understanding on the outside, as long as we search for connections, we will realize more what separates us than what connects us to nature or what connects us via nature.
