Hello again, Doc! I don't mind dialoguing with you on this forum, although I doubt many (if any) are following this thread... so if at some point you feel prompted to switch to a more immediate and direct mode of electronic conversation, my email is (and you'll also find my labyrinthine website at that address). For now, I'm pleased that what seemed at first to be a rather impersonal and incoherent and massively fragmented engine for sharing experiential data and insights on a global level has at least yielded a measure of human exchange (even if only between you and me!) I'm not entirely convinced at this point that something as ambitious and anonymous as droppingknowledge.org can generate a meaningful synergy of viewpoints... we already have thousands, perhaps millions, of web forums covering an unimaginable variety of interests and all that seems to have resulted only in many lost and lonely souls spending an inordinate amount of time in cyberspace chatting with their own virtual shadows! Nevertheless, I have acquired numerous friends on the internet over the last 8 years (that's when I first plugged in), most of which I have yet to meet in the flesh, but all of whom have impacted me in more ways than I may be aware. So your optimism about what might occur over time on this global forum may prove to be well-founded. I certainly hope so, in any case, or else why would I squander my time and energy logging in at least once a day and checking if somebody has submitted a response to anything I say?

Hello Antares Here is something to help you occupy some of your excess time???? :) On the Panama Canal web site they have live cameras set up at 3 places, 2 locks and 1 looking at the Centenial Bridge. At the Miraflores Lock, there is a post close to the camera and right now there is an Orange Brested Falcon perched on the post, I believe he comes there often, maybe every day, at aproximatly 8:30 to 9:00 AM. I do not know if you are interested in this sort of thing, but the Subject of this entry is the web site. I have been watching him as I write this. I also enjoy going there to watch the big ships go through the canal, in line with another one of my interests. Carpe Diem.

Hello Antares Today 9-21 My Grandson, Trevor, is 1 year old! ! ! ! ! When my daughter Natalie and Doug both work, I watch Trevor and his brother Jeremiah (5 years) and when they are here I do not do anything else. Jeremiah allways seems to be hungry, and Trevor needs something, but I would not trade that time for anything. I would like to know if you were registered on this site before the round table, and if so did you have a problem re-registering after 9-9. I had a dialog with another contributor before the event but have had no contact since. I believe many people were not able to come back, and many now sign on one time, make some comments or answers and do not come back to look again. This may turn out to be a private dialog for you and me if no one else is looking. I have made several other comments and answers but have had no other replys. Be well, be optimistic, I will be here.

Happy Equinox Birthday, Trevor!

Greetings, Doc. This site isn't designed for "chat" that's for sure! Takes a while to navigate the posts. I can't access the video footage because my broadband connection is only 512mps and videostreaming is more videotrickling, painfully slooooooow... takes over an hour just to watch a few minutes, not a worthwhile time investment. So I'm unlikely to join you boat-and birdwatching at the Panama Canal webcam :-) I believe I learned about droppingknowledge AFTER the roundtable. No trouble registering and logging in, though the server seems overburdened and each page takes quite long to download. One of these days, I'm gonna ask you what your name is, although I don't mind calling you "Doc" :-) Glad to hear you're such a proud and doting grandpa. Believe it or not I have 4 grandkids from two beautiful daughters. I instructed them to call me Grandpoobah instead of Grandpa but Max, who's 6, decided to turn that into "Grandpoopoo"! Being a Big Shit is almost as good as being a Big Shot. You can view fambly photos at www.magickriver.net/pod.htm - Over and Out for now, high-fives and a hug!
