Ugly is ugly. I don't like the word. But you, Benjamin, have choosen it to promote a product. And you've choosen this question to help advertise your seeds and other services. (?) Life is beautifully incredible. Spend a few more decades successfully doing what you do and report back. PS--Farming is very satisfying, isn't it?

I am a farmer who honors the sacredness of natures wisdom and promotes only that of good clean and fair food. I ask this question what makes life ugly, as I have seen many ugly things, especially in the ways in which our culture treats this sacred place. I am a permaculture farmer, and a very small one at that, I farm for life and the question above from Oregon does not make sense to me, as judgment can be ugly like this. Try viewing some of the 100 answers I gave at the table of free voices to base your assumptions on before being so arrogant about the way in which i live. Life is both beautiful and ugly it is the duality that makes up this world. I have a reverence for both and also respect. and I would say yes, the farming that i do, one of slow food, organic, local , wild and community based is very very satisfying. merci

Ugly

Benjamin, I meant to say that, while farming is beautiful, self-promotion has an ugly aspect to it. And your question is so very provocative and unanswerable (ugly is in the eye of the beholder). I realize that farming has much changed since my youth on a small farm. Mega-farms (ugly) or suburban sprawl (ugly) have taken much of the aerable land of the Northwest. I also realize there is a lot of competition out there and any chance at promotion should be taken. I appreciate your good work (beautiful) and sincerely wish you the best.
