What about water-powered vehicles? What happened to those "promising" studies so as to solve the world's craze for oil?

Now this one has got me thinking, and in trying to imagine a water powered car I invisioned a hydro-electric plant translated into a car? You would have a large tank of water on the roof and the water flowing down through a turbine motor would drive the car. Refueling would be frequent. And in going up a hill you are using the weight of the water to lift the water and the car up the hill against gravity. Sounds a bit like perpetual motion. And what do you do with the exhaust water, if you keep it then you must get it back up into the roof tank. If you exhaust it onto the road, in the summer the roads would always be washed clean, very nice. In the winter at temperatures below freezing the roads would be a sheet of ice, minor detail? Sounds like a lot of fun?

I just thought of how to get the water back up into the roof tank, you place a pump onto the output of the turbine motor and in addition to moving the car it pumps the water back up into the tank, so you never need to refuel, as you just recycle the water over and over again. very environmentally friendly. you could also add a generator to power the sterio system.

Water powered vehicle??? Not sure about that (we're are a looooooong way from nuclear fusion technology), but, liquid hydrogen powered vehicles are on the market. The only "waste" created is....water. About the worlds craze with oil, there is nothing wrong with using oil or other fossil fuels as sources of energy. The technology used to turn those materials into energy is many, many time better than it used to be making them much cleaner and less harmful to the environment.
