Do animals have souls? If so, do all animals or just certain species? If not, what explains the loss of "light" in the eyes of an animal as it dies?

Animals do not have souls because souls do not exist.

how are humans to judge an animal's sentimental existence? we, as humans, do everything in our power to kill and control and doing so we slowly are killing our own race.

If you are willing to buy a house, you will have to receive the credit loans. Furthermore, my sister usually utilizes a short term loan, which is really reliable.

No animals (lobsters, moose, humans) have souls. The soul is a concept employed by people to make sense of something they don't understand. In this case consciousness. Think.

soul may be the essence that perceives the various parts. whatever may be perceived , separated , identified ...... is not soul. does soul require life as we interpret it? does soul exist without life? does soul require consciousness? does soul require a certain determined , measure of consciousness? do trees have soul? does water have soul? rocks , mountains , desert? the earth itself as an entity or as a biological community?

Animals attack each other for food and mating reasons generally, in modern society we are not going to eat another country's people for food, so why are we so caught up in war and terrorism? big nukes are not a way to win a lady either.

A soul. What is a soul. Maybe a soul is a creation of the HUMAN mind. An attempt to describe with words the indescribable? In this case a human soul could not be manifested by another animal species because the soul would simply be a humans attempt to describe with human words something that which may or may not even exist outside of the human mind. I personaly think that animals should come to thier own conclusions about whether they have a "soul" or not.

Do you really think that you are so special that you were created with a soul by an all loving God and that the rest of creation received no such love? I find it absurd to think animals have no soul.

Many people including myself think that they do have a soul. But what is a soul? The Greek word for soul is Psyche and that is a clue. The unconscious mind at least of mammals have a psyche, humans and other mammals assuredly deal with archetypical images relating to a shared racial memory, a collective unconsciousness. Hindus and Buddhists who believe in reincarnation do believe animals have a soul and trade up in levels of consciousness until they are an evolved being. And why should animals not have a soul why do we think we are so superior? Oddly it is mostly the Christians who do not believe they do have a soul and it is not hard to see why…

For most people, it would seem odd to grant other species with souls. In my view, it seems odd to think that other species don't have souls. In my observation, all animals have souls. In fact, everything has a counterpart in spirit. Nothing could exist if it did not have a "soul" dimension. As conceptual animals, we humans like to categorize. We think in polarized yes and no terms. We think our superior intellects and our ability to manipulate our environment means we are spiritually superior over the rest of creation. But this is just a story we tell ourselves to smooth over our feeling of angst. Because we feel uncomfortable with ourselves, our overburdened mind compels us to ask conceptual questions. It urges us to formulate hierarchies so we can feel more secure in an inherently insecure existence. Everything is an incarnation of soul. So everything deserves respect.

'animals have the breath of life and were given it by God. In this respect, man, created by the hand of God, is identical with all other living creatures'. i dont belive in god, but i do believe animals have souls... they have personalites...
