continued question....

Nov 13, 2009 5:07:41 PM

We are still living beings, correct? We still eat, and need food to survive? We all need water, or something to drink, to survive. Without our concrete jungle, we would be left to live on dirt, and live in our make-shift shelters, right? just like an animal. If we didnt farm our food, we would still have to hunt and search, just like an animal. But of course, we cant even treat each other (humans) with respect, so why would we treat other species with respect?

it was kind of hard to answer that question, because both women and men can be equally insensitive, and dumb. Which kind of forces me to generalize the genders. Generally, males are a little more insensitive (from personal experience) and tend to be more careless. Generally though, females tend to be a little high maintenance (in agreement with you on that one) as well as selfish. Both genders can be equally evil or good. So in answer to your original question, no. Women are no better than men, and men are no better than women. in my opinion, of course.

to each we are our own. i live a good life. but thats only so, because ive made the most logical choices that i can(with help from my wonderful parents in my innocence). but i dont think happiness is something that just comes along with those choices. i have to make that happiness happen for myself. and it isnt that im necessarily UNhappy, im just not as content as oblivious people seem to be. which is why i wonder, if people with insight, would rather choose happiness? or if people with happiness, deeply desires intellect? i didnt say that you couldnt have both. Again, its generalizing, because its impossible to talk about groups of people without generalizing, but ive noticed that the smart ones tend to be a little less content, while the oblivious ones seem to just go on as content as possible without any care of whats going on around them.

I've given a thought to god being everything around us, our entire natural world. But if thats the case, shouldnt we praise everything around us, not destroy it? Maybe i'm a god, and all our peers are gods, but that would make our entire planet, a god. So therefore, whats the point in naming everything as a 'God'? Obviously, i think that self realization is the most important thing, because if we are gods, and everything around us is a god, then we should be praising that, and we should be learning from that, and making peace with each other and the rest of the world. It all sounds so simple, doesnt it? But not many people have that ideal, unfortuantely. Maybe human imagination has just gotten the best of us over the centuries? It's a thought...

with the ever growing population, why do we need to worry about if someone is able to produce kids or not? and what ever happened to seperation of church and state? all the arguments ive heard on opposing the ideal of gay marriage, is about how its not right in the bible, and how we cant produce like we do now (which in my opinion is a good thing), and that they shouldnt let gay people adopt kids because that will teach the kids the wrong idea (you know, since all gays do drugs and are terrible people...bullshit). this is going to sound rash, but honestly, if your against it, then you have no consideration for anyone else but yourself (ignorant). testy subject...

i normally don't like the subject of drugs, because ill do what drugs i want, when i want, and if someone else wants to do them then.. cool? how does that effect me what so ever? But i just wanted to see if anyone would come up with an acutal good defense against the use of drugs, besides the fact that it may not be that great for you. Maybe someone can come up with something worthy enough of discussion?

I currently have a full time office job. But don't get me wrong, i love my job, although i know that i wont be doing it forever, it fits my life perfectly as of now. Of course that will change when i finally start college part time in spring and probably full time next fall. I hope that when i grow older, i can live like a few of my family members up in Missouri. They live such a minimalist lifestyle, no tv, no heating or air conditioning, they just got a laptop (and it was a gift), and every piece of furniture in their entire house is antique/hand made, and they get most of their food from their farm in the backyard (resorting to walmart in the winter, haha). I just recently visited them, and staying with them for a few days definitely just makes you wonder why anyone would actually want to live in our society today.

april- i think intuition is something that is based more off of a gut feeling. what your talking about sounds more like its based on logic and past experience. I think past experience may have some influence on a more logical stand point of a situation. my intiuition is more like a natural feeling, i usually have my logical opinion on the situation, and then my intuitive opinion (gut feeling) on a situation. I try to balance the two but sometimes my intuitive side works out better than my logical side. But maybe thats just me... not everybody thinks the exact same way i do

well thats the point of them right? but what about drugs? what about drug dealers? i personally wouldnt kill someone unless they were threatening my life, or my family's life. but animals kill each other over territory? over mates? its sad, but unfortunately, its natural. I dont think people should go free for murder, thats true, but whats the difference between a cop and a murderer?

sure, lice, im sure thats why you get them. haha. well i definitely agree, they express who you are. and it is definitely a status thing these days. but we still have them, dont we? sometimes i ask myself if i get them so that other people can look at them and automatically think im 'cool', or if i really get them to express myself. And i think the answer is a little of both. i think we both get them, because we do slightly care what other people think, but why shouldnt we? even animals care. hippos, gorillas, they all fight over territory? and they all fight over females, right? but i guess us humans have a different way of expressing it.

i had a nightmare about snakes all night last night. im terrified of snakes. and in my dream, one bit me in the face, and (in my dream still) i woke up in a hospital, and my mom was crying and i tried to talk but no sound came out (there is never any sound in my dreams) and i look over on the side of my bed, and the enitre floor turned into snakes and i tried to scream at my mom to run, but they didnt bother her, and when i started to cry, they all came up onto my hospital bed and then i woke up and i was all sweaty (maybe because i left my bed heater on) and i was shaking.... i have never heard sound in my dreams... ever. when people are 'talking' in my dreams, i automatically know what their saying, no sound projects. i have told you this before, lice, and you seemed to be suprised that i dont ever hear sound... i wonder if that means anything?

i just want to know why they happen, and how to get rid of them once and for all. I went to an allergist, we realized its no my allergies. I went to a physical therapist, my upper back pain has nothing to do with it. I made a diary of what im eating for 3 weeks straight, the doctor found no correlation. I'm so fucking sick of them. I've literally been getting them constantly for about 10 years now. The only thing i can do is rely on my migraine medication (which is hardcore stuff) to make them go away when i get one. Otherwise, i suffer. I can't function AT ALL when i have a migraine.

i have upper back problems too. mainly a strain on my neck and upper spine, but i went to physical therapy for it and all they gave me was a few excersizes to do, which all helped, but unfortuantely that didnt solve my migraines. my doctors say its stress, but i dont know how i get all this built up stress? i do yoga every now and then (i used to ALOT more than now) and that always seems to relax things a bit. i was thinking about acupuncture? a guy i once dated got acupuncture alot and he said it helped him out with his stress quite a bit.

i see compassion as a sort of pity. i feel more compassion for the suffering plants and animals around us than the overpopulated society of humans. not to say that i have no compassion for humans, because thats certainly not true. i reserve my compassion for things and people that really need it. and it seems that the wildlife needs it more than people do.

i agree to disagree with that one. I definitely agree that the retard majority overpowers the thoughtful minority by a pretty terrible ratio. But there are ways people can change things, or at least try. My dad, for instance, is a plant pathologist/arborist/horticulturalist and he has devoted almost all of his time to trying to make all the assholes in Dallas City Council understand that how they develop Dallas is fucking up our planet, and how planting and mainting trees and almost building what you could call 'green' would attract people to dallas, as well as be completely beneficial, and sometimes its actually alot better on Dallas's budget. He started volunteering his time to Dallas probably about 12 years ago, and since then he has started/formed about 5 different organizations, including Texas Tree Trails, Dallas Historic Tree Coalition, and is currently in Dallas Urban Forest Advisory Committee. The Dallas Urban Forest Advisory Committee is Mayor Lepperts committee, and the committee is to be advised pretty much before any project in dallas happens (developmental/or anything forestry related). Google Steve Houser in dallas, and see what comes up. It seems the only way to get anything done is to play the retards game, but even then it takes years and months to get anything actually changed.

in a nutshell

Jan 7, 2010 6:57:10 PM

what im trying to say is, you can make changes, but its not going to be immediate, and you DEFINITELY need a ton of motivation, passion, and you have to be pretty damn smart to get anything done in our governmental system. look at the war against marijuana for examply, obviously, most of america is fighting against the law against it, and obviously most of america wants it legalized for recreational/ or just medicinal use. But the government ignores it. To get to where we are with that now, we have had to work through the government's policies, and look how long it has taken to get to just the beginning of the fight for it.

dont get ahead of yourself. I believe the first example was quite a good one, and quite a personal one. The marijuana example was obviously seperate and did not pertain to the first one. And the "powerles and retard majority" are the ones fucking up the world, not helping it, otherwise we wouldn't have the problems we have today, would we? To the main question: I think you can change things, if you do it logically. I've learned that it's alot easier to get along with someone, if you try to see things from their point of view also, even if your's is completely opposite. If your referring to a law or something you want to change in a city, or even larger, you have to learn to be understanding and tolerant of other's opinions, because you aren't going to get any slack if you try to go up to city council and tell them you don't like one of their rules, they will show no mercy. The city doesn't want to hear what YOU don't like about it. So you have to make them understand WHY you dont like the rule, and yes, its SO much easier if you have a mass amount of people backing you up, but if you have enough passion and motivation and you really want to change something, you will figure out a way. Nobody was standing next to my dad when he went in front of Dallas city council and told them all the things he requested to change to the Tree Ordinance, and they all laughed at him and told him that there was no point in trying, they literally told him that. But look at him now, he is one of Mayor Leppert's main advisors for almost anything tree-related, he's created a few different orgainizations and committees that the city council actually refers to on issues, hes caused uproars that have been all over the Dallas Morning News about all kinds of issues, and he only had 3 or 4 Dallas Master Gardner's on his side for the first few years when he started. It may have taken him 10 or so years to get this far, but like i said, with motivation, passion and logic, you could most definitely make it happen.
