Does the banning or burning of books make "literature obsolete" (which is the question)? Going back you will see that the original question concerned what would happen if literature actually became obsolete. Since literature relates to written works, it seems unlikely it would ever become obsolete. The efforts by Fascist governments, churches, etc. that were mentioned have not done so. In fact, many banned works have resurfaced. Is there a scenario that could wipe out the written word?
