Profile of Kigge Hvid

Kigge Hvid is a visual artist by profession and was appointed Director of INDEX: in 2002. Prior to this, Hvid was the first Director of Øksnehallen, an exhibition centre for the arts, commerce and culture in the heart of Copenhagen. Hvid developed the concept, created the organisation and together with a unique staff she managed the exhibition centre for five years.

As Project Manager for the 1996 European City of Culture Event in Copenhagen, Hvid created the Copenhagen Fashion Biennale, Hyper Hall. Hvid was responsible for the national and international opening events and a number of international exhibitions.

Hvid is a board member of Copenhagen City Centre and the Sophus Foundation. In 2001, Hvid and Wickie created Klub 100, a charitable "Network of Surplus” for the Danish Red Cross.

Hvid is in charge of management of the INDEX: Foundation and the INDEX: Award and is spokesperson.
