Profile of Avi Primor

Avi Primor was born in Israel in 1935. He studied Political Science and International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1952-1955), the City College New York (1959) and the Sorbonne, Paris (1980).
Primor served in the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 39 years, a.o. as Israels Ambassador to the EU, to Belgium and to Luxembourg (1987-1991) and as Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany (19931999).
From 1991 until 1993 Primor was Vice President of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and from 1999 until 2003 Vice President of Tel Aviv University. Today Primor is the Director of the Trilateral Center for European Studies at the private university IDC Herzliya and a lecturer at the IDCs Lauder School of Government.
Primor is a well sought-after interpreter of the Middle East for the European media and interpreter of Europe for the Israeli Media. He is the author of several books including Le Triangle des Passions concerning Israel's relations with Germany and France.
